Vroom, vroom...away we go!

I don't like group fitness classes.  I, in fact, pretty much loathe them.  I can't seem to follow dance choreography and always feel completely idiotic in any aerobics-style class.  I've tried spinning a couple of times and I wasn't a fan (plus my butt became bruised from the hard seat). I was clueless and irritated by the pace of the one body pump class that I attempted years ago.  Pilates feels weird and silly. I laughed hysterically through the hour-long boot camp workout that my friends and I attempted back at the University of Florida.  I have a long history of trying and failing at group fitness classes...with a couple of exceptions.  I really love yoga and I had an enjoyable time doing pure barre for a few months straight.  Other than that, I'm not so into group fitness.

This blog isn't about figuring out why I hate them or even finding the one (or a few) that I love.  It's going to be about trying new things and giving a few other workouts a second chance.  It's going to be a chronicle of my experiences in group fitness classes around Atlanta and maybe even along my travels.  It will be silly and self-deprecating. I will be honest and truthful, but I am prone to hyperbole and colorful descriptions. I am hoping to attend at least one group fitness class per week and to stay up-to-date on my posts, so feel free to nag me, if needed.

I'm excited to start my test drives this week on the trampolines at SkyZone Fitness.

Thanks for coming along for the ride!
